“80th Anniversary Remembrance”
The mission of From Hiroshima to Hope is to commemorate the victims of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and all victims of war and violence. We educate for peace, non-violent conflict resolution and nuclear disarmament through a public outdoor event on August 6th feraturing music, speakers and a lantern-floating ceremony.
The event is created annually by the non-profit organization, From Hiroshima to Hope, and has been held every year since 1984.
It is held just south of the Bathhouse, on Green Lake’s northwest shore at West Green Lake Drive North and Stone Ave North, and is free and open to the public. Sponsors include City of Seattle Office of Arts & Culture and Seattle Parks and Recreation, and local peace, community and faith organizations.
Please check our Event Tab for updates to our 2025 program.
Donations are welcome, on-site, or in advance here.
Volunteers are welcomed and needed.
VFP Daniel Ellsberg Chapter, Seattle 92 will have a potluck picnic before the event, starting around 4pm. Bring something to share with around 15-20 folks.
