ICAN Nobel Peace Prize Celebration

Sunday, December 10, 2017 - 6:00pm
The International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) won the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts in passing the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. In this hostile political climate, we must take time to celebrate our progress toward a nuclear-free world.
ICAN’s victory is everyone’s victory. So please join us on December 10th, the same day the Nobel Peace Prize is presented in Norway, for WE CAN: Ban the Bomb.
Leif Erikson Lodge, 2245 NW 57th St, Seattle, WA 98107
Sunday, December 10th. Doors at 6pm, Program 6:30-8:30pm
We’ll have food and drinks, music from the Seattle Peace Chorus, and remarks from local leaders including Bruce Amundson, President of Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility; Michael Ramos, Executive Director of the Church Council of Greater Seattle; and Kim Nesselquist, Consul of Norway.

The Seattle Stand Down

Thursday, December 14, 2017 - 5:00am to Friday, December 15, 2017 - 6:00pm
Times are estimates subject to confirmation
Through peer to peer social support and mentoring, a veteran finds the same camaraderie once thought lost. Veterans were not alone in their time of service and should not have to be alone now.  The Seattle Stand Down is committed to assisting military veterans and their families in every aspect of their transition from military to civilian life; whether they just became a veteran or have been one for a long time.   The Seattle Stand Down provides a place where veterans can have "one stop" access to various community and Veterans Affairs (federal, state and county) social services, focusing primarily on those veterans and families that are either homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless.   Keeping with the spirit of "Never Leave a Fallen Comrade Behind", the all volunteer leadership team is determined to do just that. In the fight to end veteran homelessness, the leaders of the Seattle Stand Down are determined to "give a hand up, not a hand out" and to bring every veteran in the Seattle area that is homeless or at-risk of homelessness safely "home."

NEXT HEARING – SEATTLE – March 12, 2017 AT 1 pm
1000 2nd Ave, Suite 2500, Seattle
Remember, this IS NOT the Federal court building. The court room is a Public venue in a private building. This building houses both the Chaudhrys’ attorney office, and the ICE offices, in addition to the “administrative/executive” courtrooms (25th floor) for Department of Homeland Security. (And recall, “Department of Homeland Security” did not exist until after 9/11.)
Additional updates are forthcoming on both websites: www.keepzahidhome.org and www.justice4chaudhry.info
ICE does not want folks witnessd new information on “CARRP” and “UPDATES” tabs on both websites.
Keep your calendars marked for March 12, 2018 – 1 pm, that way they can not get away with anything they want !
